Project updates FY2006 Cycle II
District-wide Collections
Approximately 120 tons of scrap tires were collected during the 10 th Annual Waste Tire Collections in Atchison , Holt, Nodaway, and Worth Counties., held during the Fall of 2006. The Household Hazardous Waste collections took place in Holt County on April 21, 2007 and in Nodaway County on May 12, 2007 . Figures are not yet in on the amount of waste diverted, but we estimate over 2 Tons of HHW was diverted from the waste stream.
EnTire Recycling purchase of a Skid Steer Loader
The loader has been purchased and has helped divert approximately 6,049 Tons of scrap tires.
American Recycling purchase of a Skid Steer Loader
Loader has been purchased and is being used to help with recycling efforts. Approximately 119 Tons of recycled material has been handled with the loader.
Service Lube purchase of Oil Filter Crusher and Oil Recycling Program
Subgrantee has installed crusher and has began using the unit daily. Subgrantee has collected nearly 1Ton of waste oil for the project.
Project updates FY2007 Cycle I:
District-wide Collections
Electronics and White Goods Collections have taken place in all five counties and over 10 Tons of waste was diverted from the waste stream.
Albany Wood Chipper
The wood chipper has been purchased and has already been used to process 122 Tons of wood. Some of the mulch was used on the pathways at the local Girl Scout Camp.
Sobotka Oil/Antifreeze Recycling
The antifreeze recycling equipment, oil filter crusher, and waste oil furnace have been purchased. Subgrantee has collected over 1 Ton of waste oil for reuse.
