Workforce Development

The Missouri Career Center assists area businesses and job seekers with meeting the challenges of our economy. The Missouri Career Center, located at 114 W. 3rd St. in Maryville, is home to the WIA Title I and Career Assistance Program Staff. Additionally, representatives from the Division of Workforce Development, Vocational Rehabilitation, Veteran's Services, Job Corps, Experience Works, Parent's Fair Share, Resources for Missouri and Missouri Employment and Training Program staff meet with customers at this site by appointment. Customers living in Atchison, Holt, Gentry and Worth Counties may also meet with a Career Consultant in one of our satellite locations in these counties.

The Workforce Investment Act places greater emphasis on streamlining of services, customer choice, training individuals for local in-demand occupations and customer service. Job-seekers can file unemployment claims and access GreatHires.org, the state job bank, through the resource room as well as a variety of services from workshops, from career assessments to financial assistance for training based on program guidelines. Business customers are always welcome at the Career Center to place a job order, interview potential employees or host a job fair.
