Planning & Development

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT FOR A STRONGER NORTHWEST MISSOURI

NWMO RCOG assists its communities with important planning activities pertaining to transportation, environmental preservation and community, economic development and more. Through these efforts, we are able to support the jurisdictions within our 5-county region while providing a wide array of services to help make the region a better place to live, play, and work.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT

We assist the region’s jurisdictions with project development and grant applications for a wide array of projects primarily related to Community Facilities, General Infrastructure and Demolition. Once funded, we also provide Administration/Reporting services.

SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT

Promote and provide educational resources on “Reduce! Reuse! Recycle!” efforts. The district also hosts an annual grant call for Solid Waste projects and hosts collection events throughout the region to assist with recycling efforts.

TRANSPORTATION PLANNING

We assist our jurisdictions with their efforts to identify infrastructure issues and options for improvements, including securing funding resources, individually and regionally.

HAZARD MITIGATION PLANNING

We work with our 5 counties to maintain their Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plans to help limit the impacts of natural disasters while also working with our jurisdictions to seek funding and resources to improve preparedness and resiliency.
